Today I ran in the Fill The Ark 5k. I was feeling okay, but a little sick. This race is always fun. My parents started it about six years ago. I have won it four out of six times. This year the new course was a lot harder, (I think) with more hills. I wanted to push it and get a pr, but I this course was too tough to do that, especially with no one near me.

The first mile was pretty hard, I ran a 5:27. My friend Gemachu was a few seconds behind me at that point. After that, he dropped back a lot. The second mile was a little bit easier, but I only ran a 5:26. At this point I was quite alot ahead. The last mile had about 800 meters of uphill and was very hard. Once I got to the downhill for the last 800, I didn't push it very hard and just coasted in for the win. I did okay considering it wasn't my best effort on a hard course. I also won a cool watch. I looked it up and it is worth about $400!

Later I ran 5.75 miles. I had a sideache, but my legs felt surprisingly fresh. I kept it really easy though, 7:45 pace. It felt good to take an easy run.

Way to run Thatcher and congrats on the win. We did that two years ago, but my son likes to run the USATF circuit so we were at Holladay. Good luck on your running pursuits
