Today I did the 1600 and 800. In the 1600 I was seeded second to Steven. It started out all right, Garrett took the pace out at a 67-68. Next was about a 68, I stayed right behind Garrett. On the third lap, I took the lead. I pushed it, and had the pack right behind me. With about 500 to go, Steven took off, and I tried a little too hard to stay with him. So going to the last lap I had a pretty good lead, but wasn't feeling good. I managed to hold a 68, but it wasn't very good. I ended up 4:33, with third and fourth about 4:35. I really didn't feel good the last lap, and was looking back! But I held on.

After the 1600, my legs were really sore and tired. I wasn't expecting much of the 800, but decided to give it a shot. It started out with Oliver and Steve leading the pack with a slow first 200; 33. The next 200 was a 31, so the first lap was 64. It was slow, and on the straightaway I made a move up in the pack. I couldn't stay with Steve or Oliver, but I was able to push it really hard into third place. I had a pretty good kick, and pushed it hard, but barely got edged out by a kid from Alta, being beat by .08 seconds! But, I qualified for state, and it was better than I thought.
